I hope…

I hope, during my lifetime, I get the opportunity to witness society as a whole shift back to our simplistic roots.
I hope it becomes the norm for our local communities to primarily gather foods from our ranchers and farmers.
I hope real home cooked meals from whole foods become the norm and not the exception.
I hope people will relearn how to grown their own foods and bake their own breads.
I hope to see families prioritize their family being around the table together each day over the touting of just how “busy” they are like some sort of a badge of honor.
I hope to see people go out of their way to support the local businesses and those of their friends and families.
I hope that handshake agreements, lending a hand, writing handwritten notes and baked goods as thanks, all become sweet genuine gestures once again.
I hope raising up our children to be strong in their morals, their gifts, their manners, their faith, and their convictions is something is encouraged everywhere.
I hope we return to a place where we re-humanize the people around us and learn to love one another well within our communities and neighborhoods regardless of differences; teaching tolerance, respect, and human decency.
But until that day comes, you’ll find me here – in the depths of my own family and community – practicing what I preach because it starts with each one of us and the work we do inside of our own homes.
