Mother’s Day 2017

It was my favorite kind of day for Mother’s Day. The kind of day where it’s an ordinary day in most all ways but there is no real agenda or expectations, no real stress – just a day of going with the flow and living life alongside my favorite people taking the day as it comes.
Ryan made me biscuits and gravy and gave me flowers. My sweet babes gave their handmade garden stone gifts they made with daddy. My stone A made a couple years ago was broken in the move and I was so sad. They were so excited to show me their gifts! A was bursting at the seams to tell me all week.
For lunch we had a picnic at the park down the street. We hadn’t ever noticed it before but it’s a beautiful park that’s surrounded by big trees and will be perfect for hot summer days. We played for a long while before the waves of downpours and sunshine was sprinkled through the afternoon. When the sun was shining, we were outside. We grilled and had a simple meal.
It was all I could have hoped for. These are the days I go to bed thinking, “today was a really good day” and for no crazy, extraordinary reason but that I’m incredibly lucky to be the mama of this sweet family of mine. ?
