Our Favorite Baby Must Haves
Good morning, friends! I hope your weekend was what you hoped it would be. It was a low-key weekend around here just spending time with Ryan after he got into town after a week away for business. I was so glad he got on the flight that he did from Philadelphia because they cancelled all flights his because of the snow. It would have been a cold, long weekend for him had he been stuck.
It’s been a little quiet around here with the bit of a break and just life happening but we seem to be back on track around here and that feels really good. One of the things I decided I want to do is share more about products and things that we have discovered and love… just because we love them and think you may too. It won’t be constantly but as a mama of our two, I’ve seen my share of all of the baby and kid products out there that are constantly coming onto the market. There are countless baby brands and products to choose from and sometimes it can very overwhelming. So, today I want to share with you our favorite baby items that we use all the time and really enjoy.
Teething Necklace from Vintage Honey Shop – $22 – $29
I keep things pretty minimal when it comes to jewelry, I have a few pieces that I love and wear frequently but other than special occasions, I rarely change things up. With B being in the phase of touching, pulling and playing with necklaces or my hair, I quickly fell in love with the teething necklaces from The Vintage Honey Shop. If you follow me in Instagram you have seen me wear mine many, many times in the last month. I was worried that they would cause headaches because I’m very sensitive to larger necklaces pulling on my neck for long periods of time causing issues but these are so light and wonderful. Zero issues. I wear mine daily and it gives B something to play with as he nurses, as well as, hold on to or chew on while I’m carrying him or wearing him. It’s super easy to clean – just soap and water and then let dry. There are so many options for their teething necklaces color wise that there’s literally something for every style. PULP by Boon – $7.95
B was gifted our PULP and at first we just used it for something to play and chew on because the silicone is super soft for him to chew on it. We’ve now begun using it for soft foods too like banana and avocado. As he gums it, it lets out the food through the silicone holes giving him a taste and also mashing the items further. With A, she was not a fan of pureed foods, even after I spent hours steaming and pureeing foods, so we didn’t force it and went the route of baby led weaning. Since that worked well with A, we are doing the same with B. He’s getting most of his nutrition through breastmilk still and he’ll continue to nurse until he decides to wean so we have a lot of time for him to explore new foods and textures at his own pace just like this sister. So, PULP has been a great tool for him to do that. I love that he can just suck on it as he chooses and get the contents. Also? Under the silicone part, there is a hard rubber bulb under it that works wonders for teething.
Honest Bath Products* – $10-$35
I had never heard of Honest until my baby shower for A and a friend of mine gave me the conditioner and body wash/shampoo. I loved the idea of good, quality products going onto my baby’s body and I had already decided we wouldn’t be using several of the products on the market that are the most common. I wanted to make sure I was giving her brand new body the best and not slathering it was low quality products. Honest is exactly that – so fantastic. They have an essentials bundle* that can come to your door every month with these essentials. They have so many good products that we have tried but their bath and body products for the kiddos are my favorite. We use the shampoo+body wash, conditioner, face+body lotion and the bubble bath for our kiddos. Only quality products for our babies.
Infantino Go GaGa Squeeze and Teethe Toy – Monkey – $13.99
When A was little we got Sophie the Giraffe and it was one of her favorite things ever. If you’ve looked at them, you know that they are around $20.00. We still have her beloved Sophie but we wanted him to have his own. So, this time around we stood in the Target aisle and saw the Infantinto Go GaGa Squeeze and Teethe toys – the Monkey and the Elephant. I held the options in my hands and let B look at them. The orange of the monkey drew him in and he continued to grab at it. The rest is history. It’s a similar texture to the Sophie, a little bit cheaper, still squeaks and it’s bright. He loves it, which makes me love it even more! He’s a big fan of Coco the monkey.
The Children’s Medical Notebook – $12.95
We love our Children’s Medical notebooks. A friend of ours gifted us one when I was pregnant with A and we just had to get one for B. It has a place for shot records, birth stats, a variety of pages to mark medical conditions and throughout the book. This book will allow me to continue to record all of his health visits, stats, shots and more for the next 18 years which I think is way worth the money. I know that a lot of records are digital but with moving doctors as we move, I love that I can have a quick written reference for everything.
A Babywearing Solution
What I have pictured above is the Lalabu Soothe Shirt ($70.00) which I have shared a bit about with you before. Now that B is older and over 15lbs, I use it as a nursing top only. I shared a bit about it in this post but I loved the ease of wearing him in it for the early days and it’ll definitely be my go-to if we have any more babies, during the early days. Now that he’s older, I’m always wearing him in my Wildbird Ring Sling ($59.00), my Moby Wrap ($44.95) or my Boba Wrap ($39.99). I wore him in all of my ring slings or wraps as early as a newborn and we both loved it. Ryan loves wearing our babes too. For my ring sling, I looked at a lot of options and found Wildbird. I have a single layer wrap and feel like their prices are super reasonable. If babywearing intimidates you with the regular wraps because of all the fabric, but you don’t want a typical carrier, look at a ring sling. They are easy to put on and wear your baby. It’s always by go to for being out and about, especially when running earrands. I’m regularly wearing B especially when we are out and about or if I have a lot of things going on around the house or he is extra snuggling and if you follow me on instagram that’s not news to you.
