2016. My Year to Thrive.

Photo Jan 04, 12 23 39 PMFor the past five years, I have picked a word of the year. I simply decide I’m going choose a word and then wait and see what word really laid on my heart. When I think too much about it I become overwhelmed but when I let something just come to me – it’s always right. I thought about the words peace, enough, but the word thrive kept coming back to the forefront of my mind. Nothing else fit really well.

Last year, I really started saying no to things that didn’t fit right with our family or my heart. I said no and let go of clients that left me feeling drained. I said goodbye to the Indie A-List community because I more work was being put into it than was utilized so it became too much and it was time to say goodbye. Welcoming B to our family really taught me how to scale things back and where my priorities really live. There were several times 2015 that I found myself feeling overwhelmed or drained. There was such freedom in breaking the chains of things I felt like I needed to do or be a part of, a weight lifted so to speak.

My lessons is letting things go and cutting things off of my plate set the framework for 2016. It got all the extra “stuff” out of the way so that I can truly thrive in the areas I want and need to. So this year, it’s my time to really thrive. Faith, Marriage, Motherhood, Community, as well as, my blog and business. I have so much to be grateful for and I’m thrilled to have this upcoming year ahead. We have some big stuff coming up this year for our family and I’m so happy that I have things set up to really thrive when those things come. So this year I’m going into this year ahead ready for it all, to take on life and really thrive.

Tell me, what is your word of the year? Did you choose one?
