Monster Dash
Saturday evening we drove 45 minutes to an event called “Monster Dash” my mom was volunteering at. It was a 5k & 10k race with a tiny kiddo race at the very end. We were wrapped up in buying A shoes and ran too late for the little race but activities were going on still. Before long, the last call for the kids costume contest was announced. We had brought her homemade costume with us and has put it on just as we arrive; so last minute we decided we would enter A, not expecting anything – just simply thought it would be fun to say she was in one.
A group of big tough middle aged war veterans voted our little owl third in a costume contest. First was won by compliance with theme (skeleton – we didn’t know there was a theme – not that it mattered to us at all.) Second was based on most creative which was a kiddo dressed up as uncle Si from Duck Dynasty And they voted A as third (the cutest). She won a three eyed stuffed plush. It was so funny to see these big tough guys turn to mush over her constantly waving, pointing and smiling at her.
This girl of ours makes life so much fun!
