A’s First Halloween
Last night we drove to her Great-Grandmas house and did her first trick or treating there. They were all ready for A with some homemade cookies, rubber frogs, and an Apple. She just beamed with excitement. We decided it would be fun to trick-or-treat around their neighborhood since we trust it a bit more than we trust ours, so we did about 10 houses. We got so many “ooooooh! She’s just the cutest!” and then we had the awkward lady who thought she was a turkey… uh…yeah…she’s a turkey…clearly… not. Once we said…”uhm, no she’s an owl but close…” she said “oh I totally see it now!” naturally…
At first A was super shy when people would come to the door but then she would let us put her down and she would just wait and smile, the real excitement came when one of the people let her pick her own item from the bowl, her face couldn’t have been filled with a bigger smile. By golly, she was sure proud of that shiny Twix she picked out, too bad it’s not on the list of things she’s ready for. She did get some items that she can eat, including the goodies that we picked up for her to make sure her trick or treating wasn’t a total bust on the treat scale. 🙂 The weather was a bit chilly and was quite windy so we didn’t stay out longer than maybe 20 minutes, but she had a good time. She spent the rest of the evening with her doting great grandparents who are always laughing at our sweet girl.
We had so much fun with our Little Owl for her First Halloween! Now it’s on to her birthday in two weeks, thanksgiving in three, our anniversary in four and a half, and then Christmas in just under two months! So many exciting things to celebrate with this girl and although Thanksgiving and Christmas will be her technical “second” Thanksgiving and Christmas this year is going to be filled with so much excitement!! 🙂
