Relishing in the Now.
We are quickly approaching the last days we have here in Colorado. Goodness it’s bittersweet. I’m looking forward to the new adventure in Pennsylvania but the last decade has been life with Ryan here in Colorado. Most of our family is here in Colorado now and that’ll be a big change.
Last weekend we spent the weekend with family. We spent Saturday with my grandparents and went to Christmas in Keenesburg. We’ve gone every year since we moved here.
We did our rounds to the little town shops that are filled with little activities to do – ornaments, cookies, hot chocolate and treat bags. It’s always pretty low key but A has enjoyed it all three years and this year B enjoyed it too. Then we watched the parade.
There was a smaller turnout this year which was sad to see, as we have always enjoyed going. The floats are always fun to watch and most toss candy to the kids. Afterwards we went home, made dinner, and enjoyed my grandparents for the evening.
Sunday we spent the day at the Denver Aquarium with my mom, stepdad and Sister. We hadn’t gone in a couple years and so going was a good time. A had been asking to go for a while actually but we didn’t think we would find time to go; so we called it good by spending extra time at the zoo one recently.
So, A was ecstatic about going to the Aquarium – so much so that she was up at 6:30a that morning talking about it. Ha! She loved all of the fish and the sharks. She really wanted to see sharks and she did. I had taught her that morning that otters sleep holding hands so they don’t drift apart but the otters were asleep the entire visit.

We had such a good visit to the Aquarium. Oma even spoiled Miss A and let her get a spray tattoo and feed the stingrays! She was so excited about all of it.
Afterwards we went to a local Mexican restaurant for lunch. It was a nice break from walking around the aquarium all morning. Yay for rested feet and full bellies.
Afterwards we did the 4D experience with the Aquarium for the Polar Express! A loves the Polar Express movie so she had a great time. It was a bit loud for B but it wasn’t a total loss! It was a good time!!
We currently have just days left before we part for our next big adventure. Reality hit more yesterday with the movers coming today. We’re sprinkling in as many family visits as we can before we move this weekend, as well.
It’s going fast and slow all at the same time. We’re spending the day away from the house today while Ryan works from home and handles the movers. Once I get home this evening to most of our stuff in boxes I’m sure reality is really going to hit.
Here’s to relishing in the next few days we do have left in Colorado and embracing the adventure just days away from us!
