A Blessed Chaos

We’ve been in an awkward place of stressed out of our minds of the chaos and demands of moving and appreciating how blessed we are that all is coming together. I don’t think that either one of us expected the complexity of the relocation process with all of the people involved.

There’s been countless hours of phone calls and paperwork to coordinate everything that Ryan has been juggling while doing his job remotely. Bless that man. He’s been working so hard to get everything done as efficiently as possible and he’s doing a great job even with the stress of it all.

Last week we had a last minute showing with an older couple, so we scrambled to make sure we could accommodate and ended up showing them around. We put so much work into this home to make it what it is today so we wanted nothing more than to make sure whoever ended up in our home would love it and utilize it.

The couple buying our home is just that. Typically sellers don’t meet the buyers but we feel like it was a situation meant to be. We know a bit of their story now and how much they need this home currently based on location and that they’ve been looking for months. We’re very happy someone will love our home as much as we do.

photo-nov-16-1-23-37-pm Our sweet girl turned four last week and I am not even sure where the last four years went. She’s becoming her own little person and I love watching it every step of the way.  She’s smart and sassy, she’s strong-willed but shy when put on the spot. She’s gentle and kind to others and I love watching how big her heart is with others.

We had her birthday party last Saturday. We kept it simple and low-key but it just felt so right. In past years we’ve gone with a big theme and spent hours preparing but this year among the chaos, that wasn’t the type of party we had. We let her pick her birthday dinner – and she chose Chicken and Couscous to have with everyone – and we did cupcakes and presents. It was perfect for this year and I loved that it was just focused on being together versus a theme and full of stress. dsc_0495

Last week we spent a day in Longmont with my mom. We’re trying to get as much family time in as possible before we move. We ran up to get a silver finger print from B – to go with my A necklace we got done a few years ago – and A goes “we get to paint?!”  So, Oma obliged and let her and Aunt Kylie pick something out to paint.

A picked out a puppy and made it a rainbow puppy. I love watching her creativity come to life. She picked color after color and we guided her to make sure she did have a ton of layers. She used about 15 different brushes and had the time of her life. I can’t wait to see how it turns out when we my mom brings it to Thanksgiving this week.photo-nov-17-12-30-13-pm

photo-nov-15-8-16-44-amAmong all the chaos of life right now, we are relishing in how blessed we really are. Catching our breath when we have a moment and appreciating what life has to offer. There has been several curveballs thrown our way but we are overall so grateful that are as fortunate as we are and that we get to do life together.

My brother is in town for the first time in 5 years, so we are excited to see him while he is here with our niece and nephew and celebrate Thanksgiving. This year we will have all of our Colorado family here – mine and Ryan’s parents – plus my brother’s little family. I’m so grateful.

I’m trying to live in the moment all while planning ahead for our move to PA on the fourth. I just told Ryan last night that once we make it to January 1, where we are all settled and the holidays are done we are going to look and each other with a big sigh of relief that we made it through. Ha! We agree it’s pretty accurate.

But for now, we’re just making it through and being so incredibly grateful for all the good things we have among the chaos.
