Bring the BOOM to Game Day
Can I tell you a secret? There’s usually only ONE football game a year that we watch: the Super Bowl. This year we will certainly be watching because A) Commercials. B) Go BRONCOS! The last time the Broncos were in the Super Bowl was 2014 and they had a tragic loss it was tough for us to watch that game, and the last time they won was 1999. This year, for Super Bowl 50, I was thrilled that the Broncos are in it and would love to see them win it!
We will watch the game in the background, play with the kiddos and have snacks on hand. We love snacks but I’m pretty certain that Game Day foods squander the last few resolutions holding tight for most Americas. Can I get an amen?! We eat a lot of good, quality foods here in our home and one of our plans for 2016 was keeping our snacks high quality. We’ll be continuing that plan by sticking to healthy snack foods. One of our favorites? BOOMCHICKAPOP. I’m convinced you can’t go wrong with it and it’s delicious. Another little secret? I bought two bags for this post and ate one by the time it was time to shoot it. I’d say sorry but that wouldn’t be truthful. It’s delicious and there is something for everyone with their variety of flavors.
It wouldn’t be in truth Joyfully Smitten fashion if we didn’t add some fun DIY fun into our Super Bowl plans, right? We know that the Super Bowl won’t be a blast for either one of the kids so I made a fun football field game!
Like Our Field and Want to make it? You need:
5 small yellow popsicle sticks
3 large green ones (for the field goal)
1 piece of cardboard
2 pieces of green construction paper
white paint for the field lines And -Yes, I’m fully aware the field is missing half it’s lines.
Glue (Elmers or a glue stick)
Hot Glue
Ruler – if you want your field lines even
BOOMCHICKAPOP for awesome popcorn to flick
Quick Directions.
To prepare the field cut out your cardboard (this just makes it sturdier but could be left out if needed) and cut it to your liking. Ours is 8.5″ x 15″ give or take. Adhere two green pieces of construction paper with glue to the cardboard. Measure out your lines and paint them with white. For the goal: Take your Popsicle sticks and lay out the goal. You’ll put one horizontal down first, then one vertical upwards on each end, then one in the center pointing down. Use your hot glue to get everything attached and then lay your last yellow popsicle stick on top to secure all of the pieces. Add a large dab of glue onto center of one green stick then triangle up the other two pieces so you make a triangle. Glue accordingly.
With this fun game we will be turning up the fun for all of us, well most of us – sorry B it’ll be more exciting next year buddy. A had so much fun pregaming her flicking skills after I made it. She was flicking popcorn and testing a variety of other items around the house. You’ll find us snacking, laughing and getting extra good at our popcorn punts and flicks during the Super Bowl this next Sunday.
Love sweet and salty snacks like I do? Take BOOMCHICKAPOP’s Sweet and Salty, mix with some pretzels and some peanut butter M&Ms to make a yummy snacks without insane calories! Whether you mix them or you munch on them separate, it’s a combination that won’t leave you disappointed.

Want some extra fun? BOOMCHICKAPOP is giving away 5 prize packs to those that show how they will #BringTheBoom to Game Day filled with sports bags, board games and more. You can enter here.
Tell me: Will you be celebrating the Super Bowl? Bringing some BOOM to your day? Who are you cheering for? You know where we’ll be and you better bet we are cheering for those Denver Broncos!
