Precious Moments

Precious Moments were a staple of my childhood. I had a Precious Moments Bible, figurines, christmas ornaments, a soft back flip book, stuffed animals and countless other items. With Precious Moments making their debut in 1979, I would imagine that most of you reading this have a similar story with Precious Moments.  Ryan even has a precious keepsake plate from Precious Moments that was his grandmother’s that we have on display in our home. 

Precious Moments were something that were found regularly in Hallmark Stores and other retailers because they were such a popular staple. When I was about eight, we even went to the Precious Moments Chapel in Missouri during a vacation. I remember being mesmerized by the chapel. Precious Moments were a feel good item in my childhood because they were just that – precious. They represented such goodness and sweetness. 

Once I grew up, I thought a lot less about Precious Moments. For me they kind of faded into the background like most things do. However, proving how truly timeless Precious Moments is I was recently reintroduced to them and it took me right back to my childhood. When I was introduced to their new Precious Moments Care Bears figurine line it was an additional throw back. Being an 80s child, the Care Bears were another staple in my childhood that spread such light and goodness.

Being a Piece of My Childhood into My Daughter’s

Seeing this new line made me excited that I could share a piece of my childhood with my daughter. The figurines are a beautiful collaboration between Precious Moments and Care Bears sharing goodness and kindness. This is a continuation of what both brands have always done an exceptional job of. I wanted A to help me pick out which figurines she wanted for her room and she chose Sharing is Caring, Perfect Harmony, Fun in the Sun and Follow Your Heart.  Hug with Care and Full of Cheer are bound to join our collection soon, too. 

There are 6 in the series and they are a hand painted resin so they are not extremely fragile but care should still be used. They are the timeless Precious Moments that I remember and incredibly well done. Each of the base clouds can slide together to create a link to display. They don’t click together but rather slide into place. 

The Precious Moments Care Bear figurines are an excellent addition to A’s bedroom. She knows the names of each figurine and we’ve talked about what each one means and represents. She so proud to tell others about them too which is incredibly sweet. There is such an innocence and sweetness about Precious Moments that will never get old. 

I’m so glad that I get to share a piece of my childhood memories (and Ryan’s) with our children of Precious Moments. Just flipping through the catalog when our order arrived took me back to so many memories. The brand that I somehow thought faded into my childhood era, is still very much alive and continuing to spread goodness.
