Repatterning Yourself to Live a Bold, Radiant Life

Maybe we are like mosaics, filled with things that have broken us in the worst possible ways and wrecked us in the best possible ways with a flexible mortar that bends and molds for more pieces to come flooding in throughout our lives shaping us into what makes us who we are in the rawest of ways.

The colors of the best things are bold, beautiful colors and the things that have broken us are the dark colors. Some are small and some are big pieces but we get to pick how we arrange them. We get to decide which of those pieces define us and shine bright, as well as, the pieces that shaped us; who we are now and in the future.
Sometimes I think we pick the wrong pieces to let shine which holds us back from being a little braver, a little happier. Maybe we pick the pieces of let down and heartbreak instead of loyalty and celebration. For me, I know I do that. I let the broken dark pieces stand in my way of being bold and bright sometimes. I let experience of chaos and discouragement draw me away from being brave and vulnerable, instead of letting them simply be a piece of my story and growing from them.
Maybe you are discouraged because you don’t think you can achieve your goals or dreams because you have those little pieces in there of past failures or discouraging words of others that need to be shifted into a different place. A place of growth and lessons learned instead of letting them define your current dreams and dimming your light. Shift your tiles girl and think of your successes, and your encouragers rooting your on to the front line and put those dark
Maybe you apologize too much for who you truly are. You hide inside your true self because you are scared to shine, or scared of what the world might think of you. You might remember weird looks, a snarky statement but instead of hanging onto those moments find the tiles in your memory that you felt like your best self – happy and carefree and make that your focus. It’s time for you to shine.
How do you need to rearrange your tiles to let the bold and radiant shine through? Are you letting the broken pieces define your instead of shape you?
I’ve been take a deep look at myself, the way I work, the way I shy away from things that I do and what I need that to look like to really thrive. Sometimes that’s asking hard questions, other times it is just being unbelievably real with myself.
Here are some of the questions I ask myself:
  • Who I am right now and who I want to be? Is it the same thing? Do I love like I want to? To I share my heart well or do I stray away?
  • What really makes me happy? Who, what, where – all things that are important questions to answer. Am I surrounding myself with those people enough?
  • Am I showing how happy they make me?
  • What are things that scare me? You know, the chest tightening, anxiety inducing items. Sharing my feelings? public speaking? upsetting someone? Feeling vulnerable?
  • What makes me scared about those things??
  • What are things that get under my skin and frustrate me?  A habit of someone else? Certain people in my life?
  • Are those things I can remove from my life?
  • Are they really upsetting me for good reason or because they are different?
  • What are some things that motivate me? My family? My Spouse? Achieving a goal?
  • What are things that discourage me? A past experience of failing? Disappointing someone? Old words that are telling me I can’t do it?
  • Who are people that make me feel better -the ones that encourage me, cheer me on? Who is my support system. My spouse? My friends? My family? Business contact?

Here’s a big one and a tough one:

  • What are those around me needing and asking of me that I’m not giving to them?  Vulnerability? Communication? Deep meaningful friendship?
  • WHY am I not currently giving them that? Fear? Past experiences I need to move away from?  Hurt I need to still heal from?  Laziness?

Should you be asking yourself some of these? Can you think of more you would add?
