Summer Reading
This summer we decided it would be fun to do the local library reading program with Miss A! We’ve been reading to her for months, literally since the very beginning! We feel it’s an important thing for her to start reading now, not only for developmental reasons but neither one of Ryan and I love to read. I read more than he does but it’s hard for me to love a book enough to keep reading it. I really hope A enjoys reading and I’m doing my best to do the same to set a good example for her. I do love reading books to her and so does Ryan.
A few weeks ago we went to the library and we got our first activity program called instructions for the reading program. Over the last few weeks we have been completing all of the items on Part 1 of 3, for the program. Activities include reading her books, and pointing out pictures, reading something for ourselves and singing songs like nursery rhymes the alphabet, Singing songs, and other fun stuff like that. Monday we went to the back and turned in phase one to get our first prize! A Rubber Duckie!
Oh. My. Heart.
When the librarian handed that duck over to her, her face lit right up. It was so cute.
So, we are now onto Phase 2 of the Reading Program. Next prize is a new book!
