We landed in TX for a reason.

My heart overflowed with joy tonight. The sounds of their shrieks and giggles of pure joy could have lit up the whole city tonight when we surprised them with a trip to the park. The parks reopened here this week and we made sure to go tonight. The kids needed the normalcy and reminder that the past couple months isn’t the “new normal”.
.
The park had many kids and families playing fearlessly amongst one another with warm smiles, waves, and conversations. My heart swelled with hope that soon we’ll be on the other side of this all. It served as a reminder that there’s plenty of other families, like ourselves, who are refusing to live in fear of others but rather re-enter community like before. Hope is seemingly alive – at least where we are.
I’ve said it a couple times in the last month or so, but I can’t say that I would have predicted we’d land in Texas….yet, I’m really glad that this is where God landed us. There’s been several things we like about the people and freedoms since we moved down here. For the most part, how the last couple of months have been handled have affirmed it even further.
I know so many of you are in states that feel so incredibly behind us in reopening your own states. My heart hurts for you and I pray change happens soon. I wish I could have bottled up the evening and sent it to each of you that need a little extra hope right now. Instead the best thing I could do was put a few stories up, not to rub it in but to serve as a reminder that your communities will re-emerge from the coldness and a fear we’re seeing, in exchange for warmth and community we’ve known for so long. It’s coming. I believe it. ❤️
