A Turns ONE

A napped before the party and woke up just before, however, we had early visitors – so she woke up to a house full of people. She took a bit to come out of her little shell since she wasn’t expecting a house full of people and she is already shy as it was but it was overall a good time. She enjoyed herself. My mom, stepdad and sister came, along with my grandparents, Ryan’s parents, our friends that were in town and our friends DB & J.

After everyone arrived we played and socialized for a bit and then it was time to break out the presents.

After presents it was time for the smash cake. Since we had to onesie made just for her birthday and it was a bit cold outside we decided to let her smash her cake in it. A wasn’t sure about smashing the cake. Although she isn’t afraid to get messy when we paint, she wasn’t a fan of being in the spotlight of 15 people watching her and she wasn’t a fan of the cake or making a mess. We gave her a few spoons and let her dig around but she still wasn’t convinced this was the fun we were telling her it was going to be. We gave her a cupcake instead which she seemed to like a bit more than the cake.
So, we sat it on the floor and let Reba and J dig in too. Oh goodness, they had so much fun digging into the cake – which made me grateful for the homemade whipped frosting we used on the cake and cupcakes since it had a little less sugar. Ha.

After the cake excitement we got A cleaned up and the floor, we played a bit more and we said goodbye to our friends DB & J. Family stuck around a while more and A played with her new toys.
We had a good day. We enjoyed our friends and family, celebrating the biggest piece of our hearts.
