Destination: Pennsylvania

We just got back from a trip to Pennsylvania to do some house hunting for our upcoming move. This was A’s second round trip of flying but she didn’t remember the first round and B had never flown before. DIA has a train that takes you to the gates and A thought that was pretty neat.

The flight went pretty good and the kids did good considering it was three and a half hours to get there. A stayed awake until we arrived in PA and B took a bit of a nap on the plane. We arrived in Pennsylvania and headed up to Bethlehem where we stayed.

We rented an Airbnb instead of a hotel because it was a bit cheaper and we felt like it would accommodate our family a bit more. We stayed in a little townhome in downtown that was renovated. Ryan said it wasn’t the best Airbnb he had stayed in but it did the job for us.
We spent Wednesday and Thursday doing house hunting all over the area. We looked at a variety of homes and got to know the Bethlehem, Allentown, and Whitehall areas pretty well. Pennsylvania is absolutely beautiful. It reminds me a bit of Kansas with the lush green grass and trees. There are SO many trees and right now they are absolutely gorgeous with the fall colors.

Our plan was to go out to home search Wednesday and Thursday with the hopes that Friday would be open so we could find something for the kids to do. Wednesday felt a bit rough, we saw the least desirable houses that day which wasn’t a wonderful feeling but it made us hopeful for the houses on Thursday.

Thursday we saw more homes and this time they were all a bit more promising.  All of the homes we could have made work for our family, all having different benefits.  We knew we needed to leave PA with a home for this adventure and God provided.

The second home we saw on the second day was actually the one we put a contract on! We put in an offer on the home and they approved it! We are officially under contract!!!!!!  This week is the appraisal and the inspection and then we are on target to close December 5th! We are going on be in Colorado about a week longer than we expected but that just means we get a little extra time with family.

On Friday we surprised the kids by taking them to the Crayola Experience in Easton, PA. We had a really good time there. There is a lot of fun kids stuff to do with a variety of creative stations. A had an excellent time with everything.  There was a bit less for B to do which was a bummer but I feel like he had a good time too.

We had a great time there and we look forward to going back there again. I’m looking forward to seeing how much the kids love it again next time and the upcoming visits we will be going in the next year with our new membership. It’ll be exciting to see how the kids get comfortable there and all the things they create. We love Crayola!!We got home late Saturday night to Colorado and we were greeted with a beautiful sunset.  Now that we are home we are hoping to have our home here under contract very soon and are praying that God leads the right family to put an offer in on our home.  We have technical stuff to handle around here to get ready for the coming weeks and our move but I’m looking forward to Thanksgiving and get things all wrapped up and starting our next adventure.
