Faithful Optimism – Third Time Is A Charm

Wreath

We have been here before, twice now, the limbo of the waiting game; walking the line of anticipation and potential disappointment. Part of me most of me is bursting at the steams with excitement, the tiny remainder is a quiet, reluctant caution that makes us unsure that a celebration is coming instead of another let down. The waiting has always been worth it, we always wait longer than others around us seem to but it’s always worth it. Different than we usually think it will be but mindblowingly worth the wait. Worth the struggle. It was like that with A, we tried and waited and prayed for 2 years before we finally got pregnant with her and we gambled with chance for a few years beforehand. We were blessed with a healthy, smart girl that we wouldn’t change for the world. We waited, searched and itched for change for Ryan’s job before he was promoted and it was better than what we expected.

This is the third time we’ve put our hat in the ring for buying a home. 5 years ago this last April were supposed to buy a house and the night before closing the lender pulled the loan due to an incompetent underwriter, who no longer has a job. Looking back it wouldn’t haven’t been the ideal home for us anyway. Just over a year ago we were set on a house only to get through the inspection to find the house needed a roof and the owners took the insurance money a couple years before but didn’t use it on a roof, leaving us back at square one. Again, in hindsight it wouldn’t have been quite as good of a fit.

Here we are, over a year since the last house with a contract on it, a plan set in place and a desire to move forward. A house somewhere we didn’t necessarily hope to buy, but that offers everything we need in a house and everything we desired & hoped for in a home and more. Here we are, the third time in this rodeo, with a contract on this house and a seemingly non-bumpy road ahead of us this time around. So, we are holding on to hope and keeping Faith that this is really it, our waiting is finally over. He delivered on His time just as He always has.

Yay for moving forward, yay for a new house and new season.
