Hello December

I felt like November was over in a flash this year. We ended it with a weekend filled with friends visiting from Kansas and Thanksgiving with my family hosted here in our home. Never in my life have I decorated for Christmas before Thanksgiving but we did a week early this year. There is something just more magical about this time of year now that I’m a mama. The Christmas tree has been rearranged many times this year thanks to little hands…and well, once due to Millie chewing up the lights. The ornaments are taken down and played with and put somewhere new. We’ve made our yearly keepsake ornaments for A to give out to family and hang on our tree this year too.

Maybe that’s part of it, it all just blended into one. Nothing changed except Gogiddy the elf (name compliments of A) made her arrival and even brought A m&ms for being nice to her friends while they were here. She did so good sharing all of her toys and even being understanding when the desire to play wasn’t mutual.

December is our busiest month. This Friday we celebrate our 5 years of marriage, then the next Friday we will be going to our first Holiday party with Ryan’s new job. Then it’s my moms birthday, then Christmas, then my sister’s birthday then New Years. It’s hard to believe it’s the last month of the year already. I feel like we just rang in the new year of 2014. Oh how things have changed for us this year and how incredibly blessed we are.

Here’s to December – a month filled with busyness, love and wonder. A month filled with love, family, gratitude and the joy of Christmas & all it stands for.
