Nine Years.

9 years ago, we said I do and what a wild 9 years it’s been.
Here we are walking into our 10th year of marriage. It’s 12.75 years of being his girl. We’ve lived 10 different houses. 4 different states. 3 amazing kids. We’re just 2 people that know 1 thing for sure – at the end of the day, we know the other will still be standing firmly next to us. No matter how chaotic life gets.
I won’t even pretend that marriage is easy. Two souls creating one life alongside the other isn’t seamless work. It takes time and the commitment that you’re in it and all that comes with it – for the long haul. Add in workloads, a business, kids, cross country moves, etc – things get super wild and crazy. It undeniably takes work and the daily choice to show up and love the other person even when stress is high and liking them isn’t easy.
Frankly, there’s days where it’s easy to feel like one of us has more skin in the game than the other. But really we’re both two people wild about each other trying to do the best we can for this life we’ve created.
I’d imagine once our kids are grown and they talk about us they’ll say something like this, “The fought about really dumb things sometimes like Mama not doing things in an organized fashion or how Daddy was a little too stressed about silly things. Yet, there was never a question about how much they loved each other. She was always willing to stand firmly by his side following him wherever life took them and he was crazy about her. They were wildly different in so many ways but when you peeled it all back they were so much of the same heartbeat. They’d send each other love songs that made them think of each other. It was there little “thing”. Even in the chaos of life they knew the other would be there for the long haul and we knew it too.”
Happy Anniversary Babe. ❤️
