It’s Feeling a lot like Christmas!

I feel like it’s almost redundant of me to tell you how much I love this time of year, yet again, but it’s so true. The hustle, the bustle, the gratitude, the transition of Thanksgiving to Christmas, etc etc etc. I really do love it all.

I’m a little bit proud of myself, too. Why? Because I’m almost on top of my game this year. We’re creating, crafting, and enjoying this season. Frankly, a few short weeks ago I wasn’t sure the day would come with this move but here we are.

Today I want to share with you a few things we’ve been up to and they will also make awesome ideas for Christmas gifts. We’re over the moon with them and I know your creative kids will be too.

Gratitude Lists, Welcome Signs & Christmas Countdowns!

We’ve been using our Ultimate Light board to write messages of Gratitude as we’re headed into the coming days of Thanksgiving and the holiday season. Sometimes we make a list compiled with everyone’s gratitude list. Other days, A will take the lead and write what she’s most grateful for. The constant change of the board has made gratitude even more fun. We get to take it to the next level by lighting it up!

The kids love the board’s ability to light up using its constant light mode, the gradual light or its flickering light mode. The lights add an extra level to the creativity both day and night. We might be using it for holiday fun during this season but I can say with certainty that it’ll be a staple around our home year round. One of my favorite parts is that the markers store in the back of the board so they stay together!

The ultimate light board is perfect for creating, creative drawings (you can even trace on it!) and a fun addition to holidays and celebrations. If you’re looking for a fun holiday gift for any kid on your list, this one should be at the top.

Holiday Card Crafting!

I always have good intentions when it comes to holiday card that usually lose track of time or do not get them done in time. This year my creativity is ahead of the game and we already started! We used our new Crayon Melter by Crayola and construction paper.

We cut cardstock to the right size, then construction paper squares for the backgrounds, green triangles for trees and white circles for snowmen. Once they were glued to the paper, we used our Crayon Melter to add the additional features! All you had to do is breakdown the crayons (you can use the ones that come with it or any Crayola crayons) into thirds and stick them into the melter. Once warm the light turns green and you can press the pen to release the melted wax.

It was a tiny bit of a learning curve for us finding the smoothness of the crayon wax and swapping out colors because they can last in there a bit. I recommend using the practice sheets to get comfortable with the consistency and rolling of the pen and have a scratch sheet of paper to clear out the wax between colors for your masterpiece. The wax warms quickly and cools quickly which is super appealing when letting my kids create with the Crayon Melter!

This last weekend we decorated outside for Christmas and made a Christmas bucket list! It’s starting to feel a lot like Christmas around here.
