Our Family Weekend

We wanted to make sure A got to do a few extra fun things before life gets a bit different around here once B arrives. Since last weekend was the final weekend as our family of three we made a weekend of it.

On Friday, we had our usual grocery store run but stopped for a quick bite to eat and then headed that way. Our grocery store is great about doing fun stuff for the kids in the bakery department so A filled out coloring page and turned it in. She had drawn the daddy’s face complete with eyes, nose and mouth all on her own. She was so proud of it. The bakery manager thought it was so cute that they requested a photo of Ryan and A with her photo. So cute!

On Saturday, we got up and around then took her to turn in her first week of the Summer reading program. When she got up from her nap we got ready and took her out to dinner. She ate fantastic and got dessert. Afterwards we made a quick run to Target to get a few busy items to keep her entertained during our hospital stay and a few last minute things we needed for B still.

On Sunday morning, we wish Ryan a very Happy Father’s Day and made breakfast burritos. We gave him the couple of Father’s Day items and then it was time to head to A’s first movie theatre movie! We went to see Inside Out and silly us, we thought it wouldn’t be a popular day for movies being a holiday but we were wrong. It was packed full of people. We had the option of three seats in the very first row or two seats in the very back corner. We watched from the back seats and it was a great time. A enjoyed her popcorn and treats while soaking in all the movie’s fantastic animation work. Some aspects were a bit advanced for her but overall she had a fantastic time watching the movie. We were prepared that she might not make it the entire movie since it was her very first one but we were wrong – she did fantastic! We thought the movie was a really good one and all of us enjoyed it!

We spent the rest of the day as a family doing fun projects and wrapping the last things to before B’s big arrival. It was a great weekend and was so nice to celebrate both A and Ryan in one weekend!
