Tiny Upcycled Vases

We are all about upcycling and making old things new around here, and my favorite thing is to include A in projects. One thing we occasionally have around that end up in the trash are nail polish bottles.  I mean, what could they even be used for? They are tiny, and useless. Right? Wrong. I found this idea over at Coco and Cocoa and Julie is brilliant. Tiny vases. Oh yes, I told you they are brilliant.

A loves to pick me little flowers from our walks or while we are exploring the outdoors but until now I had no idea what to do with them. I’ve floated them on water before but there’s never a small enough vase solution. Now we have tiny vases that are so perfect for her little treasures she’s so proud of.

Since my tiny flowers are from her, I decided when we made them we would have them as her tiny creations. We drained two old bottles and covered them using tissue paper and homemade Modge Podge.

            She had a super fun time and these little cuties are perfect for the window sill.

Here’s a quick list of directions but if you want photos – head over to Julie’s post because there is no sense in reinventing the wheel and afterall, it was her that came up with the awesome idea.

Directions:

1. Drain nail polish bottles
2. Remove Excess polish with polish remover
3. Wash out with Soap and Water
4. Dry
5. Shred Tissue Paper into small tiny pieces (we used our fingers!)
6. Paint on Elmers Glue or Modge Podge with Paint brush
7. Tack on Tissue Paper
8. Cover with more glue or modge podge
9. Let Dry
10. Add more Glue and Tissue Paper and Dry (repeat as needed for coverage).
11. Spray with Waterproof Clear Coat to protect your beautiful creation
12. Find Tiny Flowers and Enjoy!
