Grim’s Orchard & Family Farms

We spent our Saturday having brunch out and then headed to the Grim’s Orchards and Family Farm in Breinigsville. Every year we find a fun place to take the kids for pumpkins and Fall events. We grew our own pumpkins this year so we swapped out pumpkin picking for apple picking! Plus, we wanted to make sure we didn’t miss out on our opportunity to get there this year with little brother arriving any day and autumn seeming to be extremely short with cold weather creeping in quickly.
Our afternoon at Grim’s started on the barrel cows ride and then we decided to head to the Orchards. We went to the Orchards and walked down the lines of apples and filled two small bags – or 1/2 pecks. We originally told the kids two apples each. Turns out we have some over eager Apple pickers and we ended up with two full bags. With as much fun as they were having, we couldn’t even be upset about it.
We headed to the front to ring out with some gourds in tow, a bag of kettle corn (easily the best I’ve ever eaten), a gallon of apple cider, and a half dozen of apple cider donuts. What can I say? We decided we were going to make it worth the trip – ha!
Once we took everything to the car, we headed back in where the kids did the bounce pillows, the caterpillar slide, and a few other activities. The kids had such a good time on the attractions. We then went on the hayride around the farm which we all enjoyed a bit and learned about the Orchards. Each kiddo got to shoot the Apple launcher once too, which they both thought was super cool + they hit the target cars with a little help from Daddy. 😉 Then we took one last ride on the barrel cow ride
Our afternoon was a good one and we loved Grim’s. It is certainly somewhere we will be going again in the future and recommending to all of our friends here in PA! It’s got a great atmosphere and a good experience. They also do other fruits during the spring and summer and I look forward to experiencing that next year.
