It’s A….
We went to our sonogram on June 7th. It was time to learn what we were having and do a standard sono. At our confirmation appointment in April, the tech had asked us if we wanted a clue at what we were having. We had always heard that early in a pregnancy was too early to tell. However, she insisted we could likely know about 85%. So we said sure and she proceed to tell us to not go buy any clothes but we were 85% having a GIRL.
Even though we weren’t entirely positive we just kept girl in our mind. We had a name chosen on what “her” name would be and a four year old was convinced she was having a little sister. The idea of possibly being surprised wasn’t a reality now because we had to be sure. If that initial tech was wrong we were going to have a crushed little girl if the baby arrived a boy without her expecting it. We knew we if the tech was indeed overzealous in her guess, we were going to need a little time for our girl to be okay with the change.
We went through the sonogram details of all the systems and then we were asked “would you like to know what you’re having!?”
“Well, we’re pretty sure it’s a girl but yes! Let’s confirm just to be sure…”
“It’s a….BOY! You are having a BOY!”
Ryan and I looked at each other kind of big eyed and finding this somewhat comical but equally surprising. My eyes shifted to A who was just taking it in at this point. We were surprised but were always happy with either result.
We wrapped up our appointment and headed to the park because the kids did so good. Later I talked to A and she was a little disappointed. We had a long talk about how two brothers would be fun and the perks of being the only girl. She’s now excited about another BROTHER and that she’ll be our only Princess of the house currently. B is excited to be a big brother and talks about the baby brother!
So there it is! Sweet BOY, we are so excited to meet you this October!!
