Little Readers: The Character Builder’s Bible

Thanks to our friends at Tyndale, we had the opportunity to receive the The Character Builder’s Bible  written by  Agnes de Bezenac and Salem de Bezenac to read and review. We’ve had it for over a month and it’s easily one of our favorite bible books right now.  We’ve read a lot of books that are based around bible stories but this one is so well done and offers a different approach than most others we have read. The book covers 60 core character traits with Bible Stories.

The stories are well illustrated with a bible verse that accompanies the story and character trait, a short one-page bible story, a definition for the character trait, and a “life-example” of how to apply this character trait. The approach of this book is easy to understand and executed in a manor that it’s easy for children to understand because it’s short and clear. In fact, I would even go far enough to say that we’ve loved reading this book to our kids and the lessons it teaches. We’ve been reminded of bible stories that aren’t necessarily a “common” bible story but comes with a valuable lesson .

Our family really enjoys this book and how much it has to offer. We typically take time to read through the 4 page character trait & story and then discuss how it applies directly to our lives with examples that resonate with our kids based on our day to day lives or things they have faced. This book discusses everything from sin, forgiveness, empathy, compassion, sharing, giving, praying, and more. We really love this book and can’t recommend it enough.

If you are looking for a great book for an upcoming gift for a child in your life, I can say that our children love this one and we read it regularly. With 60 stories, there is a lot they can learn from and grow with. You can purchase it on Amazon for $14.37.
