LifeWay CSB Bibles
I had been looking for the right bible for me for a while and one of the versions I learned more about was the CSB. Thanks to my friends at BH/LifeWay I had the opportunity to try out three different bibles they offer. I have now experienced the CSB Reader’s Bible, the CSB Notetaking Bible, and the CSB She Reads Truth Bible. I’m going to share about them with you today because I know I’m not the only one that gets overwhelmed at choosing a new bible.
Before I dive into the three bibles, lets cover – What is the CSB?!
CSB stands for the Christian Standard Bible. This version of the bible thrives to have Biblical and Historical Accuracy without sacraficing integrity within accuracy and readability. On csbible.com it reads:
“On one hand, the CSB provides a highly accurate text for faithful sermon preparation and serious study, translated straight from the biblical languages by scholars who love God’s Word. On the other hand, it does not compromise readability and clarity for those who may be less familiar with the traditional (and sometimes difficult) vocabulary retained in some translations of the Bible.”

The Reader Bible – My Thoughts
This reader bible is the first “reader” Bible that I have ever had. My immediate first impression was a positive one with the crisp white pages and the single column text. The pages are not only crisp and white but they are also a lot thicker than most bibles I have. Having durability in bible pages is something I find value in for notetaking and regular use.
This bible reads like a book which has a welcoming aspect about it. When it comes to studying the Bible though, you’ll find that this bible doesn’t have verse numbers. This feature is great for generalized reading but could cause a problem when searching for specific verses.
Overall, I’m impressed with the way this bible reads, as well as, the additional features such as the maps and reference text in the back. If standard bible reading doesn’t click with you, this reader bible might be a fresh approach to the Word.

CSB Notetaking Bible – My Thoughts.
The CSB Notetaking Bible is another gr at version of the CSB. It comes in a nice box keeping the cloth bible clean. The visual of the exterior of the Bible is a great aspect of this bible. It’s not only pretty but it’s durable.
As you flip through the pages you’ll immediately notice the black lines preset for notetaking. The lines are a good addition for readers that like set structure and they do offer a decent amount of space for your notes. However, if you are looking for a journaling bible or a bible that gives you the freedom for more of a freeform style of notes, this likely won’t be your bible.
The pages of this bible are a nice thickness giving it a great appeal for notetaking. Like the other CSB, this bible offers beautiful maps to further your studying, as well as, term references in the back of the Bible adding depth to your studying. If you are looking for a pretty bible, with preset lines for your notetaking and pages that can handle notes – this is your bible.

She Reads Truth Bible – My Thoughts.
I would go as far as saying the She Reads Truth Bible is the most comprehensive bible I have seen or come across. It’s extremely versatile when it comes to allowing someone to dive deep into the scripture or read the bible. It caters to a large group of people without overwhelming anyone.
If you want to read the bible in a year, this is your bible. If you want to walk through the history of the bible with a deep understanding even as a new believer, this is your bible. If you want to study deep into the word and experience cross referencing of verses, this is your bible. If you want devotionals to enhance your study, this is your bible. If you want a beautifully illustrated bible that brings something to the table visually but also allows you to add your own illustrations or notes – this is your bible.
The She Reads Truth Bible comes in a variety of cover options to accommodate a variety of taste preferences. The hardcover is durable and well put together. Simply flipping through the pages you will quickly realize that you are about to encounter a bible that has just about everything you could need. It is a little thicker than most bibles but it’s not overwhelmingly heavy. The pages are a bit thinner than my own preference. You will likely experience shadowing with any pens on the paper, so I’m not sure I would personally suggest this bible for a journaling bible.
Outside of the thinner pages, it brings so much to table.
