Life Lately
Changing the calendar to July felt like a giant exhale. You know the one that just give you such a sense of accomplishment and relief? That kind. I was looking forward to July coming before June even started and it’s finally here and Friday night late Ryan came home from our month long travel stint of him being in New Jersey.
In hindsight, June did go by pretty fast but it’s so nice to have all of us back together again. While Ryan was gone he was able to go do some sight seeing in Philadelphia and in Washington D.C. which I was happy he got to do. We did some fun stuff around here too – like the parrot show where A got to pet a cool parrot and watch several do tricks – but being together is so much better. He did get to come home for a short visit the weekend of the 26th to help us celebrate B’s birthday and broke up the last week a bit for us all.

We ended June with a busy week filled with errands and preparing for Ryan to finally be home with us! The last weekend we celebrate B’s first birthday with lots of family and a party. I’ll give that all a post of it’s own once I get everything off of my camera card. I still can’t believe my little boy is one but goodness is he growing up to be a little sweetie and growing ever so quickly.
My heart surgery anniversary was the 28th of June and so was Rudy’s birthday, he turned 12! That day had B’s one year appointment and he’s growing very well and developing great! He’s a tad bit bigger than his sister was at this age which didn’t surprise us. The doctor was thrilled to see him interacting with A so much and walking all around the office. That afternoon we went and got Rudy a new bow-tie birthday collar and birthday treats! We also got all of the party supplies for B’s birthday party.
It felt like a good week to just sort of decompress, disconnect and get ready for July. Ryan got home late on Friday night – much later than expected thanks to flight issues but the kids were so excited to see him Saturday morning! We spent time getting ready for the party on Saturday and Sunday we spent a lot of time with family. Monday though was just the four of us which we all had been waiting for all weekend. It was exactly what we needed to find the center of our orbit again and enjoy just our little family.
So, if you need us – we’ll be over here enjoying the sunshine, summertime and having daddy back home with us!

SO glad he made it home safely! And I can’t get over A in that photo- it is SO cute! She looks so grown!
Yay for daddy! It’s so hard to believe as we get older our years fly. Cherishing our memories each day is so important even when times get tough or kids are on our last nerve lol. Loving them is so much more important ☺
