PineNeedle Stitches
Anytime my love for nature, art, and small business collide into one place it makes me an extra bit of happy. When you combine art onto nature and find someone building a dream with their small business while doing so, it’s even better.
I was recently introduced to a shop called PineNeedle Stitches. I was first drawn to Michelle’s handmade notebooks. I’m a big fan of writing everything down and I had never seen a notebook quite like hers. Some of her notebooks have stamped covers with words, others drawn with her original artwork – all of them beautiful. The pages are all hand-folded with a nicely weighted paper and then hand stitched to the cover. They are beautifully done.
Her work doesn’t end at just notebooks through. She paints gorgeous paintings on genuine wood slices. She creates display paintings and magnets on the slices of wood. Some are scriptures and others and nature scenes. Her artwork is intricately done and she is incredibly talented. 
Our wood slice display painting is one of my favorite things in our home right now. It feels like a perfect peace to our nature loving hearts. A big blue sky, large moon dipping behind the pine trees. It feels like we are right up in the mountains camping. Goodness I love it so.
I really wasn’t sure I could love PineNeedle Stitches more but there was one more thing that took my breath away. You see, Ryan tells me “I love you more” every time I said I love you. It’s just been a little something we have done for years, so I loved her “love you more” pieces. Little did I know though the story behind them.
Michelle had a Memaw, just like you might remember I had one that I said goodbye to just a few short years ago, whom she loved very, very much. I love you more was their sweet “little something” that carried all the way her Memaw’s battle with Alzheimer’s. My word you guys, read the story and it’ll warm your heart. Love never fails to amaze me.
With her LOVE YOU MORE Project, half – yes, 50%!!! – is donated out of “love you more” line to the Alzheimer’s Association. Pretty incredible, right? I love a shop that gives back to something that is near and dear to their hearts and I feel like Alzheimer’s Disease is something that has touched all of us somehow. I know it has in several cases, personally.
