The Tip of Spring
It’s a bit chilly and cold today but the weather lately has been wonderful. Our past two weekends have been filled with warmth, sunshine and playing outside. I cannot believe how nice it’s been in February!!
We spent two weekends ago at a brand new park that we found two miles down the road. In fact, we went two times that weekend because it was just so gorgeous and A has been asking to go to the park almost daily since we moved here. Parks aren’t as common around here as Colorado it seems or at least they are a bit more hidden so I’m thrilled we found one. I can’t wait until we find more.
We spent an afternoon at the Crayola experience again and had blast. The lines were a bit shorter this time which was nice. Having the year membership also makes us more willing to go for just a few hours versus all day so we can toss it into our day randomly. I’m interested to see how a week day will be versus the weekend too. The kids are really enjoying going and the older B gets the more he is enjoying the activities too.
This time we brought home two doodle puppies for the kids to color on. We couldn’t believe how much fun they had with the puppies. B usually doesn’t take to stuffed animals but from the moment he grabbed it from the bag when we got home and was running it all around the house barking. It was so adorable. A spent hours – literally, hours – coloring on her puppy. I love how much she loves to create.

We have been spending lots of time coloring, building with blocks, playing with cars, playing with the drill set and having dance parties. B is at such a fun age right now and his interests are starting to really shine. He will color for a bit if you put that in front of him but he’s all about building and getting hands on with his cars, drills and blocks. A has always liked those things too but lately she’s been all about the coloring and drawing. I love that both kids enjoy doing both together even though the two seem to gravitate towards the opposite things as their primary choices. Both kids have such a great blend to their personalities.
We have had our windows open several days this last week because the weather has been that wonderful. Feeling the breeze coming through the house and being able to spend so much time outside is getting us excited for Spring. Our neighborhood is so quiet you can hear the birds chirping anytime of day and walks around the neighborhood are peaceful. We are getting excited for what the nice weather will bring for us.
I think we are always going to miss Colorado and all of the things we used to do there but we are embracing life here right now. We are seeking out places to go and things to see when the weather is nice. This last weekend we found a camper in excellent condition. It popped into Ryan’s email, he sent it to me and I said “well! Lets get it!” and we did. I’m all about a new adventure and so we did. We bought a Jayco camper in excellent condition and we are all so excited for the adventures it will hold.
